Enjoy the unique taste of papad, made from wholesome jackfruit grown organically. To prepare the tasty jackfruit papad, which is locally known as halasina happala in North Karnataka, the raw jack fruit is boiled, mashed, pressed and sun-dried. For a hint of spice, a splash of chilli powder is added. These crunchy papads can be used as snacks, as a rice or biryani accompaniment, or for garnishing.
These papads can be fried, or you could simply grill it over a low flame if you are looking for a healthier alternative to cook it without oil. Papads can also be fried in the toaster or in the microwave, without oil. Make sure that the toaster is on a light toast setting and that they are not burnt by keeping an eye on them.
Storage: Store in an airtight stainless steel or glass container in a cool and dry place.
